It rained today

I hate the rain n cold weather makes me achy. I rather have the sunshine n warmth. I was lazy n tired today didn't get anything done. These r the booties to match the pink hats for the PCC in my lil city. Reading New Moon from the Twilight Saga. I luv those books n the movie. Patiently waiting for the nxt movie. Nadia stayed with her parents today. Sleep kept me most of the day n night.

Read this article in the Detroit News, the governor is gonna cut the funding for the annual Michigan State Fair held in Detroit for the last hundred years. The event has been a 'wonderful' experience for me n my family my whole life. All of the fun things plus the shopping and agricultural information. My grams' favorite were the beautiful Clysdale Horses they were beautiful. I personally enjoyed the Arts n Crafts Bldg Exhibit, of which I won a few blue ribbons when I was younger. Now I will never b able to take my grand-daughter to enjoy it. I gotta say that I"m very disappointed not only in the gaul of the governor, also with some of the people who r local celebrities from thegreater Detroit area who claim our city as they're hometown. If Kid Rock can shell out a few thousand for Arts Eat n Beats for Pontiac Oakland County, why can't some of our locals help the Fair Fund? After all Detroiter's always support our celebs.
On a happier note, Nadia spent the afternoon with me, she's my heart, an I'm happy when she's with me.
I also dug out some pink yarn to make a baby hat. I will work on the booties later.

Nadia's 2nd Birthday Party

It was very cold ourside, 59degrees n windy. Today was the 2 birthday party for my granddaughter Nadia. Her mom decided to hold it a city park under a metal top awning, across from the playground. My daughter's dad, wife n her lil sister came along with several of her friends from school n work with their children. There were about 12 kids. Cheri got pizza, snacks, soda, juice and a delicious cake with SpongeBob on it. Yummy. I still luv cake, lol. Poor SIL, he had to listen to my mom yammer on about everyone's driving an how people shouldn't bring their small babies out on a breezy day. Honestly, my mother is the most miserable b-tch on the planet, n she's trying to make everyone else feel that way too. I wanted to pull my hair out n scream, shut up! If she wasn't ill, I would yell at her. I pray really hard that I don't become her later on in my life. Whew. I enjoyed watching Na open her gifts, she did have lots of fun. We both got hair cuts this week. Cheri donated her 12inches of hair to a program which gives wigs to cancer patients. I like to think that my daughter inherited my joy of giving to anyone who needs help, but I think her career in Nursing is giving her lil more incentive. A friend of mine recently suffered a loss of a friend. My condolences to him.

I luv Summertime!

August has the hottest days in Michigan. I like the hot weather as long as it's not humid. Nothing feels as good as sitting in the sunshine, sunglasses on, sippin a cool drink of ur choice such as ez Iced-Tea or fresh Lemonade, or a nice mock Pina Colada or a cheezy KoolAid (flavor of ur choice - I luv FruitPunch) a few cups in a blender with some ice cubes. Refreshing. I been finishing up the baby afghan for my friends n going thru my containers of stuff made so I can get them ready to b donated.

I found some old dishes packed in the cupboard among them my Smiley Cup haaa.. circa 1974 I think. My bedroom had curtains n a bedspread with smiley's on it too. My Aunt was a creative person too, she painted a clean wooden dresser the bright yellow and blue to match. Sometimes I would like to re-live the teens n 20's, but then I stop daydreaming. LOL. I like life now, much simpler. Still thinkin bout luv.

Weekends'

I had a good weekend, I spent Friday afternoon with my lil Nadia, she's my heart. We watched some 'SpongeBob' n 'Elmo' , played in the yard in her pool and went for a walk (in her stroller) around the neighborhood. She loves to wave at all the kids.

Today I went to a babyshower for my daughter's Godfather, he's 46, his wife is expecting their first child (a boy). I'm very happy for him. His family adopted me when I was bout 13yrs, I was in class his older sister, when we become friends. I am Godmother to her son. Time flies when life is moving that's for sure. I hope to have a good relationship or marriage before Im too old to enjoy it. I really love caring for Na but hope to have a partner/companion someday.

I made a nice afghan n booties for the shower gift. Looking for the blue baby yarn so I can made a sweater/ hat set before the baby is born. TV is entertaining.

Heat in August

Today it was 92degrees hot in Detroit, MI. Yeah! bout time we got some warm weather. I stayed round the house, doin a lil cleanin n chilled outside on the patio to enjoy the sunshine. I made some mock Pina Colada's(2c pineapple juice, 1/3c cream of coconut, 10ice cubes in a blender, u can add alcohol or rum extract), nice cool drink. I made dinner taco's n spanish rice. I missed havin Nadia with me today, I hope she had fun with her mom. I'm relaxing n watchin tv for awhile, knitting a scarf. I have some things ready for the Pregnancy Crisis Center n a box to mail to AC4C. I spray-painted my poor car(hooptie) a dark purple. Tomorrow I go Insurance shoppin n over the Sec of State to get the plates re-newed. I also have to take the car to get it checked out. Always something. Honestly, I'm never bored, LOL.

Death is sad

Death is sad no how it happens. A childhood friend who was mentally ill caused his father harm and his own death in a fire. In their home on 12th(Rosa Parks) n Elm St. in Detroit, MI on Tuesday August 4th, 2009. My father was friends with his father also. Today, I also watched my lil girl, we hung out, watched SpongeBob Squarepants, went out for a couple of walks, played in the yard, ate lots of good food and snacks, then we watched Elmo till she went to sleep. A good day. We were at the mall Sunday, she's

wearing her sunglasses n chatting on her minnie mouse cell phone. Just like her mom. LOL.

Ladies read this. I know that anyone who has been cheated by their husband/boyfriend would have thought about it. I think they showed restraint.

Moving Forward

I wanted to start blogging. Im not sure if anyone will like reading it, but it will help me. This past week has really been miserable. Things at home seemed hard, a person I cared for doesn't feel the same n ended our friendship, and for worse 3 people I know passed away. I think about how time is so short and precious. Being thankful for all the wonderful blessings in my life. My mom is still with me, my wonderful daughter will b a RN this year she has a wonderful husband and I get to babysit the cutest lil girl(my granddaughter) in my world. Did I mention that I have some very wonderful friends also.
As a girl my grandma taught me to crochet and sew, my mom taught me knitting. I have enjoyed these crafts throughout my life. I give my crafts as gifts and to charity programs as much as possible. I belong to a yahoo group called 'All Crafts for Charity'.
I luv making baby items, which I send to the local Pregnancy Crisis Center in my area. Life has been very good to me, giving back makes me happy.

The Beginning
